Silver Sheen Moonstone
$59.00
Slightly included soft white sheen moonstone from Myanmar, cushion shape, high sugarloaf style dome, and well centered color. No cracks only small mineral inclusions. Moonstone can be somewhat fragile, high impact settings should be avoided. Black/oxidized back plate is recommended to increase the contrast and pop of the glow. This stone is mostly clean and of a decent size but is slightly less bright than my typical moonstone due to its less transparent body tone. This is orthoclase moonstone, the rarer solid colored moonstone. Moonstone is actually used to refer to two different minerals, orthoclase moonstone and its cousin ‘rainbow moonstone’ which is really just white labradorite and tends to be much more heavily included with significant color variation. Technically orthoclase is the only ‘true’ moonstone as labradorite’s color is caused by a different mechanism but it is just a case of common names in gems being misleading.
